How to Select an Industrial Shrink Wrapping Machine

Start by defining the smallest and largest product dimensions the machine must handle, including length, width, and height. Record typical and maximum weights, and note unstable, round, irregular, sharp-edged, or bundled shapes that may affect conveying and film control. Set a realistic target speed in packs per minute, with allowances for product spacing, changeovers, and future capacity.

Specify the film material and thickness, such as polyolefin or polyethylene, and choose a sealing and cutting method suited to the product, finish, and duty cycle. For the shrink tunnel, evaluate temperature range, airflow adjustment, chamber length, and conveyor speed and type; these factors determine shrink quality and energy use. Confirm how the wrapper will connect with upstream feeding and downstream labeling, inspection, or packing equipment.

Check the available floor space, access for maintenance, power supply voltage and frequency, and required compressed-air pressure and flow. State the destination country so the supplier can address applicable machine safety, guarding, electrical, documentation, and compliance requirements.

For an accurate quotation, send dimensioned drawings, clear product photos, representative samples when practical, the intended packaging pattern, and a video of the current or planned production line. This information helps the supplier recommend the right configuration, identify integration risks, and estimate tooling, utilities, lead time, and total project scope.
